This year, students will get to attend a club of their choosing on Wednesdays. This time around, the choices are Track, Curiosity Corner, Library and Music Room. Here are a few pic of our Wolves enjoying their Club!

We are excited to share that all of our 1st-5th grade students have started participating in their ELD (English Language Development) Groups. We are very proud of our Multilingual students and we know their hard work and leadership are making a difference every day. Keep up the fantastic work!

Just a reminder that student chromebook insurance is only available the beginning of the school year. Every student has a device and insurance is only $20. If a screen or keyboard gets broken by the student, it reduces the fee from $60 to only $10. Click the link to purchase chromebook insurance:

🎄 Christmas in August at EAST!🎄
Yes, we're planning ahead! This year, our amazing EAST students are giving the gift of reading to every student at Westwood Elementary. Each child will receive a book in a special Christmas bag, and you can help make it happen! 📚
For just $3, you can sponsor a book for a Westwood student. Keep an eye out for more details and a white envelope in your child's Tuesday folder. Simply add $3 inside the envelope and send it back to school! EAST students will take care of rest❤️
This Week in Westwood EAST:
Our students explored 10 different technologies and completed a survey to choose the one they want to become experts in. One of our community partners, an occupational therapist from the Children's Therapy Team, shared a fascinating low-tech solution she uses with one of her clients. The students are filled with curiosity, wondering what it is and how it can make a difference! Once the EAST students discover what it is they will begin brainstorming how it could be transformed into a high-tech, 3D-designed permanent solution.

Help us give a Westwood welcome to another new member of our PACK!
Mrs. Merritt Tate will split her time between Westwood and Turnbow Elementary We are thankful to have Mrs. Tate as our School Psychology Specialist. She hit the ground running and is already part of our SPED Team!

What a WONDERful 1st day at Westwood!
We are ready! Please be patient with the car line this week- it will start slow but get faster- it helps if kids are ready to get themselves in and out of the car with parents staying in. We will be there to help. See you soon!

Just a reminder- our Pack Meet 'n Greet is this afternoon from 4:30-6:00. Students can meet their teachers, and families can take care of the school supply fee ($20), pick up car tags (every family will need one even if your student is normally a walker), complete the free/reduced lunch application, and leave with a "cool " treat! You can also purchase Chromebook insurance ($20) which is optional but highly encouraged, and we have new school shirts available for $9.99. Not a new face in the building but a new member of the 5th grade team. Ms. Baumgartner has quickly become a very important member of our 5th grade Team. We are excited Ms. Baumgartner decided to make Westwood her "new" home!
