Westwood families and community- you may notice some construction starting around Westwood; we are so excited! The exit for walkers will change a bit, but students will still end up down by the gate, so parents can continue to wait there. Students will still cross at the same spot with Mr. Terry. We appreciate your flexibility and cooperation as we start our Pack Upgrade Project!

All activities will be held indoors, so the fun doesn’t stop no matter the weather. We can’t wait to see our Wolves exploring, learning, and making memories together! 🐺✨

This week we are celebrating Ms. Scantlin, our fantastic librarian! We just celebrated her for National Librarian Day, and the celebration just continues! 🎉 She is always so positive, smiling, and willing to help, creating a welcoming and fun environment for everyone who walks into the library. This year, she even transformed part of the library into outer space for Read Across America Week, making reading even more exciting for our students! 🚀✨ Ms. Scantlin is a true reader herself, always ready with great book recommendations for both students and staff — and she even helps lead a staff book club! 📖💛 She is so fun to be around and brings a genuine passion for books and learning to Westwood every single day. We are so lucky to have her! 🌟

Lights, camera, celebration! 🎬🍿 This week, we rolled out the red carpet for Assistant Principal Week by turning Mrs. Tompkins into the star of the show featuring her as the main character in different movies all week long! From start to finish, it was a fun-filled celebration that brought smiles, laughter, and a whole lot of joy to our students, staff, and of course, Mrs. Tompkins herself. We loved seeing everyone get in on the excitement and creativity. It truly made for a memorable week! Mrs. Bell’s 2nd graders had a fantastic time getting creative with chalk pastels! After a Mystery Science lesson where they discovered that pandas eat only bamboo, students brought their learning to life through art. Using careful circles and ovals, they created their very own adorable chalk pastel pandas! We love seeing our Wolves combine science and creativity in such a fun way! 🐺🎨 #Springdalefamily

Today at our monthly PACK Pride assembly, we had the best time celebrating our Howling with Pride students along with our Safety awards, Specials awards and P.A.C.K Promise awards! These students continue to show what it means to be a Westwood Wolf each day and every day! We are so proud of our Wolves and love taking time to recognize their hard work and positive choices! #Springdalefamily

Our 4th graders put on an incredible music performance this afternoon! We are so proud of the hard work, talent, and confidence they showed on stage. They truly sounded amazing! A huge shoutout to Mr. Stewart for his dedication and creativity. He not only worked tirelessly with our students, but also wrote the lyrics and composed the music himself!!! We couldn’t let another day go by without celebrating someone who means so much to our school! This past Saturday was National Librarian Day, and we want to give a big shoutout to Ms. Kat Scantlin for everything she does for our students and staff. From helping our Wolves find the perfect book to creating a love of reading that lasts a lifetime, she truly makes our library the heart of our school. 🌟💛 Superstar of the Week! 💛🌟 This week we are celebrating Mrs. Valdez, our amazing instructional facilitator! 📚✨ Mrs. Valdez works tirelessly behind the scenes to support both staff and students through interventions, thoughtful lesson planning, and helping strengthen reading instruction across our school. She is always full of creative ideas and is eager to jump in and help wherever she’s needed. 💛 Her passion for student success truly shines in everything she does. And we can’t forget — she is hands down the best dressed person in the building! 👗✨ We are so grateful to have Mrs. Valdez as part of our Westwood family! 🌟
