#SpringdaleFamily are you interested in attending Don Tyson School of Innovation? Please come to an important informational meeting on Thursday, Feb. 15, at 6 pm. Don Tyson School of Innovation Enrollment opens March 1st at 10 am.

Today is an AMI day. Please complete the attached choice board and return it to your child’s teacher when school resumes. Teachers will be sending out Google Meet/Zoom links through Remind. Your child’s teacher will be available for questions from 7:45-3:15. Stay safe and warm!

Good afternoon- we learned today that we will be using Feb. 2nd and 19th as regular school days (they were supposed to be teacher learning days) since we have missed so much this winter. We look forward to having our Tigers here those two days! The students' last day of school will now be May 29th unless we get more snow days. Additional days could be added if more snow days occur. Buenas tardes, hoy aprendimos que usaremos el 2 y 19 de febrero como días escolares regulares (se suponía que eran días de aprendizaje para maestros), ya que nos hemos perdido dias este invierno. ¡Esperamos tener a nuestros Tigres aquí esos dos días! MAP testing will begin tomorrow for some of our students. We have had to make adjustments to the testing dates due to inclement weather. You can see the attached graphics to find the new dates and times. Please make sure your child gets plenty of rest and arrives to school on time each day.

Each year John Tyson Elementary celebrates the Great Kindness Challenge and students participate in a food drive to help people in our community. All collections will be used to benefit local families. The grade level that brings in the most food items will win an extra recess! The items needed are listed in the flyer below.

Next week, January 22nd-26th, we will join other schools in our district and across the world in the Great Kindness Challenge to raise awareness about kindness and the impact our words and actions have on others. Each day of the week will have a dress up theme to spread positivity! Please see the image below for details on each day's theme.

Please join us next Thursday, January 25th for STEAM Night from 5:30-7:00 PM. There will be exciting STEAM activity stations throughout the building. Some of the stations will include Ozobots, a Tinker Studio, learning about weather with KNWA meteorologist, Dan Skoff, and much more! Dinner will also be served.
